BY PROFESSION OF FAITH
AND BAPTISM
If
you are not now a baptized Christian, a minister will be happy to discuss
the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism with you. Simply contact the
minister. If you feel led to profess your faith publicly this morning,
please come forward when the invitation is given. Discussion and plans for
your baptism may be arranged later.

BY TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Simply mark the pew card “Wish to Join” column. A minister will then get in
touch with you. First United Methodist Church of Surgoinsville will handle
the details of contacting your former church.

DENOMINATION
The
process is very much like the previous one. Since you are already baptized
and confirmed, these steps will not be repeated. You will be asked to take
membership vows of the United Methodist Church.

MEMBERSHIP FOR TEMPORARY
RESIDENTS
If
you are living in Surgoinsville or surrounding area on a temporary basis,
and do not want to give up membership in your home church, you can become an
Affiliate Member if you are already an United Methodist, or an Associate
Member if you are a member of another denomination. Affiliate and Associate
Membership grant you pastoral oversight, fellowship, and full participation,
including holding church offices in First United Methodist Church of
Surgoinsville.
